  • MRSAG March/Rally - Save Our Village Schools

    The Midlothian Rural Schools Action Group have organised a march and rally in Dalkeith on 23rd April 2004. Parents, children and supporters of the schools and communities will march from Dalkeith Country Park to Kings Park, passing the council's offices on the way. This will be a fun event with the march being led by a local pipe band.

    Posters advertising the event are being produced for distribution however you can download them here for you to print yourself. Posters are also available for you to march with or you can design your own.

    Buses are being arranged for all supporters of the schools to attend the march. If you have not already advised that you would like to use the bus, please let us know as soon as possible. You can contact one of the school reps below or email us and we will pass your details on.

    The march details are as follows:

    • Assemble at Dalkeith Country Park Entrance at 1:45pm, for start at 2pm.
    • The route starts at Dalkeith Country Park car park, along the High St, turn left into South St (A68), turn right into Lothian St and then right again into Buccleuch St, past the council offices and then left at the traffic lights and along the road to Kings Park.

    The march and rally is organised with Lothian and Borders Police, the police and traffic wardens will close the roads ahead of us. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and march close to the pavement. Most of the time there will only be one lane closed. MRSAG stewards will co-ordinate the march however, we must obey any instruction given by the police on the day.
