  • The Schools' Funday - 6th June 2004, Temple

On 6th June 2004, children, parents, families and communities from the 5 rural schools gathered at Temple Primary School for a Schools' Funday. Since 26th February this year, these same people have campaigned tirelessly and now was the time to relax and enjoy a day with our friends.

The event was a resounding success - people gathered from all corners of Midlothian to join in the fun. We had : Borthwick Pipe Band, Lothian & Borders Fire Bridge, BBQs, 2 bouncy castles, face painting, pony rides, a coconut shy, tombola and raffle, splat the rat, stocks, home produce, welly wanging, tug 'o war and children's racing.

Everybody had a great time, it was just what we needed. Our thanks go to all the people who helped on the stalls, games etc, especially Jill for bringing it all together - and not forgetting everyone who turned up and made it a day to remember.

Hand drawings of all 5 schools by a local artist that were on sale can still be obtained, get the details here.

Photos from the event are available for download by clicking on them below.
