Scottish Borders Council - Proposed School Closures
Scottish Borders Council announced plans to close up to 11 schools as part of a major school estate review on 27th October 2003. Link to The Scotsman's Article.
The overall consultation process started on 17th February 2004 and will run to 15th October 2004. Schools are being grouped into separate consultation

Before announcing their proposals, Scottish Borders Council invited everyone to participate in the consultation by completing a short survey. Link to the survey.
On 29th March 2004, it was revealed that the Conservative councillors in Scottish Borders Council were unlikely to back the policy and
that no school should be axed unless closure has the support of parents and the community. Link to The Scotsman's Article.
